Beat NXT

Twenty years ago I made the composition "Beat", for pianist Ralph van Raat. That work was about rhythm. Last year Ralph asked me to make another composition for him. "Beat Nxt", I thought.
Because everything is about rhythm and so naturally Beat Nxt is as well. You can feel the rhythm, the beat is still as alive as it was twenty years ago, no need to talk about it.
But to do that anyway: on one side you hear the virtuoso Ralph van Raat, on the other side the don't-be-so-difficult rock piano. Ralph feels at home in both worlds. Me too.
